learn balletBallet is about art, but it is also about life

Ballet is a fascinating art form that’s both exciting to do, and to watch. It is a lifelong adventure to learn ballet and for some, discovering dance can be life-changing.

Ballet dancers are fit, strong and flexible, and they are lifelong students. To be able to perform at the best of their ability, dancers need focus, commitment and a capacity for hard work.

Initially children (5–12 years) learn ballet for enjoyment, physical, rhythmic and expressive skill development. The pathway to becoming a dancer may vary, and we suggest you to start by taking classes at Studio 19 Centre of Performing Arts.

Although it can be a little more difficult to learn ballet moves than the moves and steps of modern forms of dances, the satisfaction and fulfillment you get once you have learned the basic moves and you know how to dance on pointe are indeed amazing.

Keep in mind that if you want to learn ballet moves, building flexibility and core body strength should be your first priority to help you execute your moves well and prevent you from injuries. When you, especially if you are an adult beginner, learn ballet, there is a lot of information to absorb about basic positions. The basics of ballet exercises begin with posture, turnout, and flexibility. Having enough flexibility to stand with a neutral spine is an advantage.
